When we’re designing a custom iron fence or railing, we offer customers the option to add decorative elements made from cast iron to an otherwise wrought iron structure. Those pieces are then welded onto the pickets of the railing. This process can save on costs, since producing intricate decorative designs in wrought iron through hand forging can get expensive.

Powder Coating
Powder coating is a safe, dry finishing process that uses finely ground particles of pigment and resin to create a protective finish. We choose to powder coat our steel frames because it is low in toxicity and has low flammability. The powder coating is then evenly melted and cooled into a thin, durable film. Powder coating can maintain its finish for up to 15-20 years, depending on pre-treatment and the type of powder. Its resistance to weather, corrosion, and chemicals makes powder coating a more durable finish than paint or other liquid coatings.
There are an enormous amount of decorative elements used on wrought iron fencing, and one of the most common are called scrolls. These are a form of spire decoration and their construction is based on the top of a spire curling around itself. Other aesthetic elements include things like S and C scrolls (scrolls that form the shape of these letters), twists that can be customised to virtually any shape or form, decorative insets, symbols and symmetrical elements. Other popular wrought iron fence elements include spirals, swirls, spears, vines, intricate curves, arches, twisted columns, gothic shapes, baroque-inspired designs and circle and sphere accents.
