Each coil of steel wire shall consist of one wire. The surface of the rod shall not have cracks, folds, scars, ears, layers or inclusions. However, indentation, pits, bumps, scratches and pockmarks are allowed, and the depth or height shall not be 0.2mm. There should be no corrosion and oxidation skin on the surface of the steel wire, and oxidation color is allowed by heat treatment. The surface of the wire is allowed to have scratches not exceeding half of the allowable deviation range of the diameter, and local defects not exceeding the allowable deviation of the appropriate diameter.

As we all know, the mechanism of resistance to atmospheric corrosion of zinc includes mechanical protection and electrochemical protection. Under the condition of atmospheric corrosion, there are ZnO, Zn(OH)2 and basic zinc carbonate protective film on the surface of zinc layer, which to a certain extent slows the corrosion of zinc. When this protective film (also known as white rust) is damaged, a new film will be formed.

The technical term “galvanizing” means that the metal has been specially treated with zinc. Essentially, it’s wire covered with a very thin layer of zinc. It is because of this thin layer of zinc that galvanized wire has many characteristics. Zinc can be galvanized by dipping the wire into a zinc bath or by electroplating.
