Non-chocolate candy led those numbers at 32%. Cupcakes and snack cakes made up 14%, followed by cookies at 8%, coated pretzels and trail mix at 7%, baking decorations at 6%, gum and mints at 4% and ice cream at 2%.

Animal studies have shown that, when consumed as a food additive, titanium dioxide can induce intestinal inflammation.

Lithopone is added to plastic resin systems to enhance UV protection of the final plastic products that includes outdoor plastics and automotive plastics. It is used as a white pigment for plastics such as polyolefin, vinyl resin, ABS resin, polystyrene, polycarbonate, nylon, and polyoxymethylene (POM). The photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide results in thin coatings exhibiting self-cleaning and disinfecting properties under exposure to ultraviolet radiation. Alloys are characterized by being lightweight and having very high tensile strength (even at high temperatures), high corrosion resistance, and an ability to withstand extreme temperatures and thus are used principally in aircraft, pipes for power plants, armour plating, naval ships, spacecraft, and missiles.
